The Committee's mission is to promote the international competitiveness of Europe's environmental technology industry. We therefore work to:

1. Identify the barriers to growth facing Europe's environmental technology industry and propose solutions to maximise the opportunities.
2. Promote awareness of the commercial and environmental benefits of environmental technologies and win general support for a favourable legislative and fiscal framework.
3. Act as an advisory body for third parties interested in environmental technologies.
4. Advocate to the European Commission, the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament practical and cost-effective policies which will promote Europe's environmental technology industry in line with Europe's leading international competitors.
5. Provide an effective link for European environmental technology companies with the EU's research programmes.
6. Help boost European companies exports into the growing world market for environmental technology by, for example, liaising with the European Commission about EU export initiatives.
7. Link European environmental technology companies with the EU's standards bodies (such as CEN and CENELEC).
8. Provide Members with information on EU environmental legislation and funding available for environmental R & D, and on market opportunities, etc; and facilitate the exchange of information and experience between members.
9. Cooperate with other environmentally-interested industry associations.
10. Collaborate with other national, European and international organisations.
