The Environmental Industries Commission (EIC) was launched in 1995 to provide UK environmental technology equipment and services suppliers with a strong and effective voice to influence the debate on the future of the industry among policymakers.

With over 240 company Members, EIC is the lead trade association for the UK environmental technology and services industry. EIC represents the main environmental sectors (water, air, land, marine, waste, transport, climate change, etc). It has the support of leading politicians from all three major political parties, industrialists, trade union leaders, environmentalists, and academics.

EIC advocates a supportive legislative and fiscal framework that emphasises progressive Government policies on environmental regulation, tax incentives, export promotion and R&D support. Through its innovative Sector Working Groups EIC provides a powerful and effective platform for putting forward the industry's views directly to key regulators and policy makers in UK and Brussels. As a result EIC have won many important policy successes for the industry.

EIC also facilitates the exchange of information and experience on R&D, market opportunities, funding and training and publishes the industry yearbook "The EIC Guide to the UK Environmental Industry" which combines details of the key challenges and opportunities for the industry with a invaluable reference tool.
